HIGH END BIKINIS: YAY OR NAH?

I'm all for different kinds of bikini's and that includes bikini brands, I've tried anything from buy one get one free to spending what seems like a whole pay cheque on a bikini, and I want to begin by talking about my first high-end bikini purchase this from TJ Swim!

For a while now, I've had my eyes on a few brands such as Fae Swim, TJ Swim and Monday Swimwear for roughly a year, and once my trip to Greece was in session and being planned of course- a new bikini had to be included for the trip. I actually realized from that moment that I didn't have that statement black bikini in my wardrobe, which shocked me just as much as you I know! So I instantly knew what I wanted was that little black bikini, from there I narrowed down price ranges and styles from each of the brands listed above.

Monday Swimwear was a close win, however up until recently I wasn't sure if my chest size would happily fit in the tops because Dev and Tash were really marketing bigger sized chest sizes (woo! I'm all for bigger sizes and I def got a few of my friends into Monday Swim) but now for there new line, they've marketed with smaller chested women and I know the next bikini will most likely be from there.

My ultimate decision came down to this super cute bikini from TJ Swim, and if you guys don't know who they are I suggest you follow their instagram. It's every girls beachy dreams!!

Now for the real review, I was very excited to get this bikini. The way it looked on all the models really worked on me when it came to purchasing this piece as their photography is so stunning. I'm not saying advertisements get me every time, however when bikini's are shown in their true form on social media- I'm all down!

I'm going to break this review down in points, to keep is short and simple!

A few things I noticed right away when I received the bikini:

PROS:

- Gorgeous Fabric

- Cute Packaging

- Comfortable

- Fit very well

- High waisted bottoms complimented my peach bottom!

CONS:

- Expensive

- If you don't have a bigger chest, this top makes you look pretty flat.

- Made me look a little boxy (personal body opinion, others may feel different)

- Not great for tanning at all due to the style of bikini ( more coverage in a way)

k so I'm going to start off with, I'm no where near as tiny as the instagram models TJ Swim works with when it comes to advertising their products. I went into purchasing this bikini, knowing that I wasn't going to look like their instagram, however this isn't suppose to discourage you guys- we all should be happy in our own skin and I've come to that along the years! The main thing is, is that I knew I was going to feel confident in this little beauty. I purchased the high waisted Irina bottoms because I know I'm a little more curvy in that area and it would compliment my smaller indented waist and my peach bum haha. I'm also usually one to match my tops and bottoms so of course I wanted to get the Irina top, plus it had a cute tie and made the models boobs look very nice. This was a slight disappointment (no offence TJ Swim!) but this top did absolutely nothing to compliment my boob size, I understand that there's nothing they can really do about that so I mean go with your cut itty bitty titties!

However, it's not the end of the world because I still loved the design of the Irina top- I loved the knotted front (which you can take off by the way) and how the front dips low. I do want to mention- this top doesn't have adjustable straps. I really made sure to choose the best size for me because of this reason! I'd rather a bikini that I can adjust if I'm ordering it online in case of any sort of sizing flaw! But this worked. I wasn't falling out anywhere (mainly because I don't have much that can fall out ha) but in general, all is well. If you're a solid B or C I recommend this top, it would be so flattering!

The Irina Bottoms- also before I go forward you're able to buy induvidual pieces as these are not sets. I just happen to really like this Irina bottoms as they're high waisted and a bit thicker to compliment my little love handles that I know would of been hugged too much with tiny bikini bottoms!

The fit at first was really weird AT FIRST because I'm not use to a thicker bikini bottom, but as I kept it on it really made me feel good about myself and I got use to it. It's a bit more boxy than I'm use too, but it was something I was open to wearing and trying out. I also bought it and didn't want to return it over a small thought about how I looked. This was also the first bikini bottom that exposed the sides of my who-ha! WOAH, not use to that. I know it's trendy now, but if you're one to keep things PG down there- I don't recommend this bottom depending on your body type. But if you're more comfortable with it, than girl let her out!

I also wanna quickly discuss that this bikini isn't good for tanning, I don't think thick tan lines are ever in. I was able to wear this bikini on vacation because it wasn't crazy hot in Greece as it was March. But hot enough to wear a bikini, if that makes sense? I just knew I wouldn't be really tanning. And if you notice in some images I'm sitting next to my Bali Body Tanning Lotion to keep me glowy!

Overall, is all the hype of these instagram bikini's worth it? In my opinion, if you can afford it; having one isn't a bad idea. If you can't? Don't sweat it. There's so many bikini's out there that are just as good for something so much more affordable. You'll look and feel beautiful in anything you wear on a beach or on vacation. Would I buy again from TJ Swim? Maybe! honestly, I do really like this bikini but I'd love to try another style to see how it fits against my body type, maybe a bikini that flatters my chest area more.
