It's finally 2018, I hope everyone had an incredible and memorable new year!

I know I'm super late on this- but I needed to take some time off to myself to really recap on 2017 (the good and the bad) and what I want to change now that it's 2018. With this time off, I was able to go to London, Ontario to see one of my close gal pal's Hannah for a few days. I've always had this commitment with myself to spend time and make time with people that love and truly care about me, and with that photograph them. It's honestly the best medicine for me!

It also happened to be such a stunning day as we went for a walk, we dressed warm and took a little hike to a ravine nearby her house. This was the beautiful result! I used Han's Nikon D610 which is a full frame camera so the quality is superb, and my Nikon 85mm f1.8 lens of course ( I never go anywhere without it, it seems).

I always tell my subscribers or followers that, shooting the people around you is literally the best way to practice on composition, framing & light. Every model or person you shoot works differently when it comes to angels and light. Not everything suits everyone, so it's always good to just practice this way and see what you come up with!

As much as I love shooting editorials, which will be coming back very soon I promise! I also just love shooting laid back images of my friends and family. They don't seem to mind it either haha!

If you couldn't tell, this lighting style for the most part is called Halo light. I don't remember if I mentioned it in a pervious post but it's fine. We can always go over it again and again and again! It's (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful and flattering light to shoot with and work with. As a photographer, you should always know what you like and continue to explore what you haven't tried or seen when it comes to light. As we all know Photography literally means " to paint with light" so do so!

Now, I have a question for you guys:

Do you want me to do a detailed explanation on how to work manual mode on your DSLR?

I can explain everything from why it's most important to use and how to actually use it? Let me know on my instagram page or even on here in the comments!
